AQUAFIRMExs Care Instructions

Micro-cupping, CO₂ microdermabrasion and ultrasound serum infusion. Everything you need to know before and after your treatment.

Before your treatment

AQUAFIRMExs needs very little preparation. The main thing is arriving with a calm, un-irritated skin barrier so the treatment can do its work.

Three to five days before

  • Pause retinoids, AHAs and BHAs, benzoyl peroxide and scrubs so your barrier is settled.
  • No waxing, depilatory creams or electrolysis on the treatment area.

Twenty-four hours before

  • Avoid sunburn, sunbeds and spray tanning.
  • Reschedule with us if you have an active cold sore, rash or infection on the area.

On the day

  • Arrive with clean skin and no makeup if you can.
  • Allow 30 to 75 minutes, depending on the protocol we have planned for you.
  • You do not need to plan downtime — you can go straight back to your day.

Please tell us before we begin

  • Active cold sores or herpes simplex
  • Open lesions or broken skin on the area
  • Active bacterial or fungal infection
  • Recent facial surgery or injectables in the area
  • Isotretinoin use in the last six months
  • Known allergy to plant-based actives
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

If you are unsure about a health condition or medication, speak to your physician. Every patient completes a consultation form before we treat.

Plan your downtime. Zero downtime. You may have very mild flushing for an hour or two, and you can resume normal activities and even apply makeup shortly after. An immediate glow is visible after one session; the fuller result builds over a series of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart.

After your treatment

For the first 24 hours

  • Skip saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga and very hot showers.
  • Keep to a gentle routine — cleanse, hydrate, protect.
  • Wear sunscreen, even if you are indoors most of the day.

For three days

  • Pause retinoids, AHAs and BHAs, benzoyl peroxide and scrubs.
  • Skip other resurfacing treatments — peels, laser, IPL, microneedling.

Your post-treatment routine

Nothing complicated. Support the glow rather than chasing it.

  • Cleanse — a gentle, non-foaming cleanser
  • Serum — a plain hyaluronic acid serum
  • Moisturise — a bland barrier moisturiser
  • Protect — a mineral SPF 30 or higher

Call or text us right away if

  • flushing has not settled after a few hours.
  • you develop itching, hives or swelling — this may be a reaction to a serum.
  • you are unsure whether a product is safe to resume — ask before you use it.
